You'll be loved like you never have know

Elie Wiesel, a Nobel Prize winner, Holocaust survivor, and author of the wonderful book Night once stated that "The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference." I have to say that over the years, I've reflected on this adage many a time, yet, I never quite understood it until now. In my post-break-up world, I realize that this is completely true and it captures exactly how I felt at the end of my last relationship- completely jaded and indifferent. I loved him, but now I don't feel anything, which I am now chalking up to indifference.

Love is a funny and fickle thing, capturing you when you least expect and leaving you all the better, because despite the circumstances, there's always something to learn.

A Wonderful Valentine's Day

Despite being single this year, I had one of the most wonderful Valentine's Day weekends ever. After making the trip home, I enjoyed a weekend filled with family and love - the best kind. Mom and I enjoyed dinner Friday night at the most amazing little tearoom in 5 Points.

Thanks to Laura Capitano, one of my favorite columnists in Jacksonville, we discovered this cute little restaurant from her column. Needless to say, we are definitely going back soon!

On Valentine's Day, mom and I went to go see the movie "He's Just Not That Into You," which I actually found really refreshing and cute. Then the boys made us dinner and we stayed up late chatting and catching up (as always).

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend too!

Winter Park

As a current resident of Central Florida, I have to say I've become somewhat jaded by the flashiness of a city like Orlando. While people across the country - and world- yearn for a trip to see Mickey, I drive by Disney signs everyday without thinking twice. More likely, I shake my head frustratedly as tourists drive 35 mph down I-Drive or stop in front of Panera to take pictures. Yet I have to say that I have truly enjoyed living here and discovering the odd in's and out's of Central Florida.

One such area that I completely love is Winter Park, a true jewel amid commercial driven Orlando. It has a very friendly, Europe-y feel to it, which I completely adore. It's such a romantic area, offering the perfect spot to find unique gifts and hole-in-the-wall restaurants. As my mom's birthday is coming up very quickly, I opted to stop by one of my favorite Park Ave boutiques, Bullfish.

Here's what I found:

I'm so excited by my hand-painted finds!
